Position Title: Librarian I – Teen Services Librarian
Reports to: Librarian II – Youth Services Manager
The person in this classification will think that kids and teens are awesome and have experience in helping them learn and explore the world. The ideal candidate will work well in a team and have an enthusiastic and positive attitude to help kids, tweens and teens learn, think, share, play, dream and more. The teen librarian will provide traditional library service and create new innovative services that fit with Herrick District Library’s mission and vision. Developing appropriate outreach and collaborative opportunities are part of this position. This person may supervise others.
Every other Friday/Saturday 9-6
1. Masters degree in library science from an ALA accredited library school.
2. Love of kids and teens.
3. Knowledge of computers and web resources, including social media and gaming resources.
4. Experience in planning, executing and evaluating programming for youth is desired.
