Kids are invited to DIG INTO READING this summer with Herrick District Library's Summer Reading Program for kids beginning June 10. With fun dig-themed events, kids can make cool crafts and get the scoop on robots, geology, zoo animals and so much more! Plan your summer with these great events, and be sure to pick up or print off a reading tracker starting June 1. Prizes are available for kids who read their way through the summer. Join us for a kick-off party in Centennial Park Tuesday, June 11 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Check out the summer events calendar to read more about summer programs for kids.
Beginning Saturday, June 1, register online and print out your tracking chart from home to get started. Or, register at either building at any time after Monday, June 10. You may also register at the summer program kick-off party in Centennial Park on Tuesday, June 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Want to make difference in a child's life this summer? Become a Reading Buddy! We will pair you with a child entering 1st-5th grade who is at or below reading level. Once a week for eight weeks, you will come to the library and read together. We have opportunities available to volunteer at the Downtown location and the North Branch.
