The Genealogy Collection of the Herrick District Library focuses mainly on materials that record Dutch immigration to Michigan during the 19th century and records of the founding families and early settlers of the Holland area. In addition, the Genealogy Department collects some materials on migration patterns to and from the West Michigan area and select materials on routes of migration into the Midwest from the New England States.
The Genealogy Collection is staffed the following hours:
Monday: 5-9 pm
Tuesday: 9-1 pm
The Genealogy Room is open the same hours as the library. If you require genealogy assistance we recommend that you call ahead to ensure that staff is available to help -- 616.355.3720. You may also schedule an appointment with one of the genealogy staff members for assistance in the genealogy room.
