For tweens and teens
Craft magical lands like the maps tucked inside the covers of your favorite fantasy stories. Use mixed-media art to create a map for your very own realm. Participants will be invited to showcase their artwork in a gallery during a visit from fantasy authors Lisa McMann (The Unwanteds & The Forgotten Five) and Matt McMann (Monsterious) on July 25. MCMANN MAYHEM BREAKOUT
For tweens and teens
Put your puzzle and sleuthing skills to the test as we challenge you to a McMann Mayhem Breakout. Have you read The Unwanteds or The Forgotten Five by Lisa McMann? What about Matt McMann’s new monster mystery series Monsterious? We have been inspired by these authors’ books to create our latest breakout. Come work in teams or go solo to to solve this breakout. Registration required at herrickdl.org/events starting July 11. Stick around afterwards and participate in an author visit with Lisa and Matt McMann.

AFTERNOON WITH AUTHORS: LISA MCMANN & MATT MCMANN
For kids, tweens, and teens
Spend some time with fantasy authors Lisa McMann & Matt McMann. Lisa, beloved local legend and author of The Unwanteds, will talk about her newest middle grade series, The Forgotten Five, and Matt will share about his debut monster mystery series, Monsterious. They will engage in a Q&A session, and a book-signing will follow. This dynamic event will directly follow a McMann Mayhem Breakout adventure in the library, and it will feature an art gallery displaying work from participants in the July 18 Mixed-Media Mapmaking program. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
