100 Books Before Graduation

About

100 Books Before Graduation is a free reading initiative from Herrick District Library designed to inspire high school students in grades 9–12 to read 100 books before they graduate. Along the way, participants can earn fun prizes—starting with one just for signing up!

Why:

Research shows reading reduces stress, strengthens vocabulary and writing skills, boosts empathy, and broadens your perspective of the world. We also know high school can be a busy and sometimes stressful time. That’s why this program offers a fun and rewarding way to take a break and enjoy reading for pleasure to continue your journey towards being a life-long reader.

How:

Getting Started

Students entering grades 9–12 are invited to join the program by completing the online registration form on this page. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a welcome email with all the details to get you started.

Track Your Reading

Each time you finish a book, add it to your reading list. It’s a simple way to keep track of your progress and see how close you are to your next reward.

Earn Prizes

Earn prizes just for registering—and keep the momentum going with our quarterly milestone parties for teens that have reached 25, 50, 75, and 100 books. Plus, every teen who logs at least one book each month is automatically entered into a gift card drawing. When you reach a milestone, you’ll receive an email invite to a Milestone Mayhem party.

Register

Teens in 9th through 12th grade may register for this program by filling out the online form. Once your form has been processed, you will receive a welcome email.
