Full-Time Assistant I – Youth Services

$17.01 to $21.74 per hour

(Union position with full benefits)

 

The Herrick District Library is seeking a responsible, service-minded Library Assistant to join our team in the Youth Services department at the Main Library. Library Assistants perform a wide range of library functions that encourage our community to connect, discover, and create.  

This Assistant works closely with the Youth Librarian to plan, present, and evaluate programs and storytimes for kids and families. Primary duties include assisting patrons by providing reader’s advisory, access to information, and help with technology.  This position also performs some library circulation functions and solves patron account issues.     

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Spanish language fluency is preferred. 

Weekly schedule: (hours may vary and there is some flexibility)               

Monday                      9:00am-6:00pm                     

Tuesday                     9:00am-6:00pm                     

Wednesday                12:00-9:00pm             

Thursday                     9:00am-6:00pm                     

Fridays                        9:00am-6:00pm/off when working Sat/Sun              

Every third Sat            9:00am-6:00pm/off

Occasional Sun          1:00pm-6:00pm/off
