As it gets colder, I get a desire to watch familiar films that fill me with happiness. Today I want to share with you some of my happy movies that are available to stream on Kanopy.
MirrorMask
This family film is a bit out there, but I really enjoy it nonetheless.
Lion
This film about a young man who was adopted and goes on a journey to find his birth family really touched me. Also, I enjoy just about anything Dev Patel is in. Warning: may make you cry.
Kedi
For something slightly different, I recommend Kedi, a documentary about the "stray" cats of Istanbul and how the city cares for them.
Juliet, Naked
This one surprised me. I really enjoyed the way the story unfolded as well as Chris O'Dowd's performance.
Don Juan DeMarco
This classic film is about a therapist trying to help a young man who in turn helps the therapist.
Eighth Grade
I will warn you, this one is on the mature side. That being said, it is still a great study of growing up and finding your place.
