We are starting a teen art gallery! We will be experimenting with lots of different art mediums. This month, in June, we are doing a tiny canvas. Create a mini-masterpiece to put on display.
From June 1st to June 15th, eleven to eighteen-year-olds can come to the main branch teen area to paint. All materials will be available in the teen area, while supplies last. If you have paint at home, you can also come to pick up a canvas and take it home to paint.
Canvas submissions are due on June 15th. Art will be displayed from June 16th to July 14th in the teen area. Once the display period had ended, feel free to come and collect your masterpiece to take home.
The rest of the summer art mediums have also been chosen. In July pick up a design form and create a bookmark to go with our summer theme. Then the community will vote on their favorite design. If your design is selected, it will be made into a bookmark distributed at the library and you will win a prize.
August teen art will be pointillism.
If you have ideas for other art mediums you'd like to see in the teen art gallery, let Ms. Heather, the Teen librarian know!
