Experience the Library
You’ve heard about HDL's events, but there’s so much more to experience at your library!
Would You Be My Neighbor?
This spring let's build connections and care for both the people and the community around us. As the world thaws and blooms, so too can our relationships - with neighbors, with nature, and with ourselves. We hope to plant seeds of compassion and tend to the future we want to share. HDL's spring events and experiences are geared to bring us together.
StoryWalks
We’re collaborating with Ottawa County Parks to continue providing StoryWalks this spring. Walk through the pages of a book as you make your way along a park path. StoryWalks are self-guided and available during regular park hours on the dates listed.

March is Quilt Month
In celebration of National Quilt Month, we are displaying beautiful, handmade quilts at both branches. Lovingly created by members of the Big Red Quilters' Guild, along with other patron contributions, these one-of-a-kind items show incredible craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creativity. Each quilt tells a story. We invite you to stop and admire each one.
Readers' Choice Awards
The HDL community has voted and the award-winners have been announced. View the list champion titles in this year's Reader's Choice Awards.
Knitting for Holland
Date: November 15 - March 15
Location: Main Library and North Branch
Herrick Main and North Branch will have free knit and crocheted winter accessories. If you need something warm and cozy, please take a scarf or hat donated by someone in your community. Do you knit or crochet yourself? Then please consider donating warm winter accessories for your community members. Donations can be dropped off at Main or North Branch. We're in particular need of larger sized items in dark colors.
Groundworks Fun
Next time you're at the Main Library, stop by Groundworks for some fun.
Groundworks always has something fun available to interact with, drawing you into our new creative space to discover, connect, and create at your library.
