Nonprofit Celebrates Birthday with Help from Groundworks

CultureWorks Transformative Art + Design Academy for youth turns 15 this month, and they're celebrating with some fantastic fun at Park Theatre. The event will feature the mission of CultureWorks with students and alumni telling stories, live music, poetry, and more. It's also a fundraising opportunity for the nonprofit.

When brainstorming fundraising opportunities that fit teen budgets, staff member Jaer thought of the button maker available at Groundworks. A day later, he and a CultureWorks alumni member found themselves at the library cranking out a colorful collection of pin buttons, which will be available for sale at this week's fundraising event.

While creating the buttons, ideas came to mind for ways to use buttons or colored paper left from the button-making process in future art projects for CultureWorks students.
