Spring Break 2026 Staycation Events at Your Library

TEEN POETRY WORKSHOP WITH LEXI ROSADO
For teens ages 11-18
Celebrate poetry month by joining local poet Lexi Rosado for a poetry workshop for teens centered around the theme "Would You Be My Neighbor?" Then, get a chance to perform your poetry at our Open Mic night on April 15th at the Main Library! Registration for this event is preferred, but not required starting on Thursday, March 19th.

SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
For ages 3-5 with a caregiver
Join us as we practice sensory regulation and social-emotional learning in a structured environment with a small group of participants. We'll work on transitions, sensory experiences, and following directions while sharing songs, rhymes, and stories. A casual playtime will follow our program. Registration recommended for both caregivers and children starting two weeks prior to the program.

CURIOUS CREATORS: CIRCUITS IN ACTION

Get hands-on with electricity in this beginner ­friendly STEAM program! Kids will explore how energy moves and transforms by building simple projects with paper circuits, Snap Circuits, and conductive play dough. Through play and experimentation, they'll discover the basics of circuits, problem-solving, and creative design-one bright idea at a time.

For middle and high schoolers
Groundworks is partnering with Out on the Lakeshore to host a class during their Youth Drop-in Hours! In this class we will be creating laser-cut acrylic standees. This event is for any teenager who identifies as LGBTQ+, is questioning, or is an Ally! We ask you bring an image with you for the front and back, and ideally, they have matching silhouettes.
