Full-Time Groundworks Assistant, opens a new window

Do you enjoy playing with technology, learning new skills, creating music or podcasts, and helping others bring their ideas to life? Herrick District Library is seeking a full-time Assistant to support Groundworks, our digital media makerspace, and to help patrons access the library’s resources in new, out-of-the-box ways.
Primary duties include engaging guests with hands-on creative projects, assisting patrons with equipment, planning and presenting how-to classes and events, and promoting the recording studio and other Groundworks resources. This position will also help display projects, promote collections, and circulate the Library of Things collection.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree, familiarity with technology, a genuine interest in digital creation, and a curiosity and willingness to learn.
Tentative weekly schedule: (hours may vary and there is some flexibility)
Monday 9:00am-6:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am-6:00pm
Wednesday 12:00-9:00pm
Thursday 9:00am-6:00pm
Friday 9:00am-6:00pm (off when working Saturday)
Every third Sat 9:00am-6:00pm
Occasional Sun 1:00pm-6:00pm

Part-Time Aide – Circulation & Youth Services, opens a new window
$17.93 - $22.63/hour 20 hours/week
The Herrick District Library is seeking a responsible, service-minded Library Aide to join our team at the Main Library. This position splits time between the Circulation and Youth Services departments. Library Aides perform a wide range of library functions that encourage our community to connect, discover, and create.
Primary duties include assisting patrons with library card functions, solving patron account issues, and helping to maintain an inviting space for all guests. This position also provides some reader’s advisory, access to information, helps with technology on the floor and in Groundworks, and interacts with patrons while roving.
This position requires a high school diploma. Spanish language fluency is desired.
Weekly schedule: (hours may vary and there is some flexibility)
Monday 10:00-6:00pm(Circ & YS)
Thursday 2:00-6:00pm (Circ)
Friday 1:00-6:00pm (YS)
Every third Saturday 9:00-6:00pm (Circ)
Occasional Sun 1:00-6:00pm
