Ground News is an independent news aggregator, founded in 2020 by a former NASA engineer, designed to combat media bias and highlight coverage gaps. It enables users to compare how different outlets across the political spectrum (left, center, right) report on the same story, offering insights into, bias, factuality, and "blindspot" coverage.
News Comparison Platform: It aggregates news from over 40,000 sources, presenting multiple perspectives for a more balanced media diet.
Bias & Factuality Ratings: Each story includes data on how 7 categories of bias from Far Left to Far Right and, factuality levels (Low, Mixed, High) are represented in the coverage.
Blindspot Feed: Identifies stories that are disproportionately covered by one side of the political spectrum and largely ignored by the other.
Ownership & Coverage Data: Provides information on who owns news outlets and what percentage of coverage comes from different political, positions. Ground News aims to facilitate critical thought and independent assessment by revealing how media, outlets shape the narrative.

Access Ground News on an iPhone

Go to the app store or the Google Play store and download the Ground News app.

Open your Libby app and tap on the library "building" on the bottom of the screen.

Scroll down to Extras.

Tap on Ground News. This will redirect you to the app.

Tap on the button that says "Use Linked Card". This will give you access to the content on the app.

You are given access for 30 days at a time. When your 30 days are done, you will need to link through the Libby app again.
