I Watched Heartstopper–Now What?

It’s time! Season 2 of Heartstopper is finally here. Last year, the Netflix adaptation of Alice Oseman’s graphic novels took the world by storm. So much so that we could barely keep the books on the shelf at the library! Season 2 of this highly anticipated show comes out this month, and it’s shaping up to be just as good as the first.

If you’re like me, you’re probably planning on watching the entirety of season 2 in one day. So, what do you read when you’re done? What’s going to give you that same joyful feeling?

Here are my top five graphic novel recommendations to check out if you love Heartstopper:

Belle of the Ball

After asking out her crush and getting turned down, Hawkins ends up tutoring her girlfriend, Chloe, in English instead. Thinking it will be the perfect in, Hawkins agrees. Little does she know Chloe was one of her early childhood friends. And there might be sparks there after all.

Bloom

Ari desperately wants to get out of working at his family bakery. At least, until his dad hires the new help for the summer: Hector. As the two become closer, a relationship starts to bloom, as long as Ari doesn’t find a way to mess it up.

Mooncakes

Nova works at her grandmothers’ bookshop where she loans out spell books and helps investigate supernatural occurrences. On one outing, she runs into her childhood crush: Tam, who is a werewolf with dark magic chasing her. And now, it’s up to Nova to help her.

Cheer Up!: Love and Pompoms

Annie is under pressure to join the cheerleading squad in order to help her college applications, but it sounds like the worst thing in the world. After all, her ex-friend BeeBee is on the squad and she wants nothing to do with her. But as the two start working together and training, they might just rekindle their friendship—and maybe, it will lead to something more.

Check, Please!

Bitty is a former figure skater who has joined his college hockey team—and loves to bake. Not only does he have to navigate the new hockey community, but he also finds himself falling for the team captain. Which just makes everything even more complicated.
