This summer has been so fun and busy--and so exhausting! As this summer ends, youth services staff at the main library has performed 50 storytimes, hosted 34 children's programs, hosted 17 teen programs, participated in three large community events, visited camps and preschools for storytimes nine times, and hosted six school or camp tours at the library. Summer is a very exciting time at the library, and we've had so much fun--we wouldn't trade it for the world! But we are also exhausted!
As August comes upon us, library staff everywhere begin to breathe a sigh of relief--in just a few weeks, our summer reading program will be finished, storytime will take a break, programs will slow down, and our regular families will start getting ready for a new school year--which probably means returning the mountain of books they've been reading this summer!
If you're feeling absolutely wiped from all the fun you've had this summer, join us in taking a breath before rushing into the new school year. Do your best to find moments of calm over the next couple of weeks when you can relax and recharge your batteries. To help you out, check out this great list of picture books featuring yoga, mindfulness meditations, and simple quiet times.
The summer is drawing to a close, and if you're anything like us, you're exhausted! Grab one of these picture books and relax for a few minutes! HerrickDL KidPicks
