April is National Poetry Month! There are lots of great ways to celebrate all things poetry here at Herrick District Library. Stop by the Youth Services Department all month long to flex those poetry muscles. Here are just a few of the things you can find on the Youth Services floor thorughout the month of Apri.
Books
Of course, we'll have plenty of poetry books out for you to peruse and check out. From picture books to poetry collections to novels in verse, we have it all. For every age!
Writing Activties
Stop by our writing table to try your hand at writing different kinds of poetry. Get creative! If you write something you really love, drop it in our mailbox for a chance to be featured at the desk.
Pocket Poetry
Stop by the Children's Desk to check out our gumball machine, filled with fun poems you can take home. Perfect for April 29th, Poem in Your Pocket Day!
Magnetic Poetry
The Children's Desk will also have magnetic poetry kits you can use while here in the library. Take photos! We'd love to see what poems you come up with.
