We’re all back-to-school and the library is ready to support our area teachers and students! Here are some ways we can help:
- Local teachers can apply for an Educator eCard
-
- Local teachers can apply for an Educator eCard, which gives them access to our digital resources, like eBooks and downloadable audiobooks (these can serve as great accommodations for students!).
- Students can apply for a Student eCard
-
- Connect your students to kids’ eBooks and eAudiobooks in our digital library by guiding them through our Student eCard request form. Bonus: If your students use Sora in your classroom, they can add their digital library card number to their account and access age-appropriate eBooks and downloadable audiobooks from our collection.
- Field trip!
-
- Plan a field trip to the library! Contact us to coordinate a guided, interactive library experience at the Main Library or the North Branch Library, usually ranging between 30 and 60 minutes. Field trips are free.
- Request books
-
- Ask for help finding books for curriculum or book club/reading groups. We can create customized lists of titles you can share with families. If you have a full-service library card and are looking for book club sets, we can source multiple copies of the same title from libraries in the Lakeland Library Cooperative and have them ready for pick up on our hold shelf in one week.
- Librarian visit
-
- Ask a librarian to visit your classroom. Librarians can help facilitate a library card sign-up for students, talk about library services, create a storytime or book talks to complement curriculum, or work with you to customize a visit to your students’ needs.
- Online learning and research
-
- Access free educational tools and resources, like ABC Mouse and World Book Kids, through our website.
