What Teen Volunteer Opportunities are available?
We have opportunities set-up 3 different ways.
Anytime: Teens that have submitted a volunteer application are welcome to complete Teen Book Reviews. For more information about Teen Book Reviews visit the Teen Book Review page.
Quarterly: Once a quarter we will host a teen volunteer day alternating between the North Branch and Main Branch. These Teen volunteer days will be listed in our program flyer and can be found under our online events.
Occasional: Once in a while we have special programs, like Noon Years Eve, that we need extra help for doing things like face painting. These are more sporadic but still very helpful volunteer hours.
Teens are welcome to sign-up for as many of these options as they would like when they fill out the Teen Volunteer Application.
How to become a Teen Volunteer
All patrons 14 to 18 years old are able to volunteer. Applications must be completed and signed by teen and parent or guardian (unless teen is 18). Every volunteer opportunity requires an application and is only good for the current school year (August – July). When received, the Teen Librarian will respond to your application. Please be aware that it may take up to a week to get a response. In addition, when letters are needed to verify community service hours, please provide the Teen Librarian a week's notice.
Print a Teen Volunteer Application or pick one up at either library location. Please return the filled out application to the youth services desk.
