Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, we will no longer be able to accept teen volunteers due to changes to Michigan's Youth Employment Standards Act. These regulatory changes affect the requirements and limitations surrounding youth participation in volunteer activities, and as a result, we must discontinue our teen volunteer program at that time. Teens interested in learning more about library careers are encouraged to contact the Teen Librarian to discuss potential job shadowing opportunities.
