We are bringing back a teen art gallery favorite! This month, we are bringing back the tiny canvas. Create a mini-masterpiece to put on display.
From May 1st to May 15th, eleven to eighteen-year-olds can come to the main branch teen area to paint. All materials will be available at the Youth Services Desk. If you have paint at home, you can also come to pick up a canvas and take it home to paint.
Canvas submissions are due on May 15th. Art will be displayed from May 16th to June 14th. Once the display period has ended, feel free to come and collect your masterpiece to take home.
Look for more teen art galleries throughout the summer. In June participate in our 2nd annual bookmark contest. Then the community will vote on their favorite design. If your design is selected, it will be made into a bookmark distributed at the library and you will win a prize.
July art gallery will be cross stitch and in August learn about floral folk line art.
If you have ideas for other art mediums you'd like to see in the teen art gallery, let Ms. Heather, the Teen librarian know!
