Seed Donations 2023

Here's where you can find any extra growing information we received for this year's donations. These charts correspond to seed packets labeled "community donation." Varieties are organized by seed type (Flower, Fruit & Veg, Herb), then by seed name.

For (lots!) more information on our Featured Seeds and the One Seed, One State selection, visit their individual pages

If you'd like to learn more about growing food or flowers, try browsing this list. A quick Google search for "how to grow __________" can also help you get started.

Please Note: We cannot guarantee that any of these seeds will be in the catalog during your visit to either Herrick library location. It is merely a list of what could be available at any given time, having been in our donation stock this year. Seeds are first-come, first served, and we often distribute seeds according to the growing season (tomatoes/peppers to start indoors March-April and beans/flowers after danger of frost). This list is meant as a reference for those who borrowed a seed during their visit and would like to read the full growing notes. Additionally, the question of "Location" listed on the donation envelope has proved to be a bit too ambiguous, so you'll see a variety of interpretations on that one.

Updated 3/13/23 with new donations.

Update 5/10/23: Arikara Sunflower, Chives, Cosmos, Garlic Chives, Solomon's Seal (community donations), and various commercial seed packet remnants.
