I had a teacher in school who imparted this tidbit of wisdom on me: if you want to learn about people who are different than you, you have to hear their stories. Now, several years later, I have come to really appreciate that wisdom and hope that some part of it can be shared with you.
During this month of Hispanic Heritage (from September 15th to October 15th), there is a wonderful opportunity to read or listen to stories that are written and spoken by Latin and Hispanic authors. I also encourage you to learn more by checking out the blog History of Hispanic Heritage Month a coworker did from last year if you would like to learn more about the histories of the cultures that are celebrated during this month.
Celebrate the multitude of cultures this month and learn more through the power of stories.
