Libraries are Magical

Libraries are magical.

They inspire us to create and explore. To dream.

They build community for the lonely. Share counsel with the lost.

They offer passage to worlds beyond this planet and reflections on times past.

They provide safe harbor from the bitter cold, the relentless rain, and the stifling heat.

They give us resources to learn, to grow, to evolve alongside others. Especially those who are not like us.

They preserve stories that build us up, break us down, fill our hearts, and empty our prejudices.

They shelter those who may not feel comfort or belonging at home. Or anywhere.

They share resources that teach us to understand. To Empathize.

They do this for all of us. Everyone. Equally.

Libraries are magical.

And books save lives.
